Outdoor space is limited in the city, which makes a deck one of the highest-value places to spend on a Chicago home. Green Wave Construction builds new decks, replaces decks that have reached the end of their life, and repairs the ones that are structurally sound but no longer safe or comfortable to use.
Chicago weather is hard on exterior wood. Freeze and thaw cycles, standing water, and years of sun eventually reach the framing, not just the surface boards. Part of what we do on a repair or replacement is look underneath at the joists, posts, ledger connections, and stairs rather than only at what you can see from above.
We talk through how you actually use the space first: grilling, seating for a group, stairs down to the yard, a landing off a second-floor unit. That conversation shapes the size and layout more than anything else.
